    Du Qingmiao, born in 1986, is a native in Tongliang. Having graduated from Oxford University, she was ever employed with Morgan Stanley in London. Currently, she is the Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Ziyuan Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. and the principal designated by the company for “Ocean Hill”, a tourism and cultural real estate project on Jeju Island, South Korea.

    Du Qingmiao believed it was a goal that inspired her courage and motivation.

An unforgettable Chinese girl to the President

    Junior high school education in Tongliang, senior high school education in Nankai Middle School, college education in Tsinghua University or Peking University … Du Qingmiao ever had a growth route planned by his father, Du Jingang.

    In the second year of the senior high school education, she came across an idea that she would continue her secondary education in Britain and then apply for a program in the Oxford University!

    Then she went to Britain. However, upon arrival in Britain she found the secondary school previously selected by her was not so satisfactory. So she decided to transfer to another school, i.e. the Concord College. She missed the day of registration at Concord College as she took a wrong train and arrived at the school at over 23:00 deep in the night.

    She recalled, “I was really gutsy at that time.”

    As a transferred student, Du Qingmiao had no academic record of the first year, which was required for a candidate to the Oxford University. This had not funked Du Qingmiao. She lobbied her teacher hard and finally got a chance to be an auditor.

    One month later, she attended a mathematics examination and got the full mark, ranking the first place in the class. Later, she attended the National Mathematical Olympiad for Middle School Students and won the gold medal.

    All these made Du Qingmiao distinct in the eyes of the President of Concord College, who said “she is an unforgettable Chinese girl” and then endeavored to get a chance for her to attend the make-up examination for the first year and obtain corresponding academic transcript.

    After graduation from Concord College, Du Qingmiao got an offer from the Oxford University with distinct performance in all aspects.

    “The goal inspired my courage and motivation.” Du Qingmiao said as she recalled her experience at that time.

    For field work in the third year, she eyed on a world famous investment bank - Morgan Stanley in London.

    Through online exercises, separate interview, group interview and a series of tests, Du Qingmiao was shortlisted for the final interview by the manager. Considering the “teamwork spirit, respect to customers and good resistance to hits of this delicate Chinese girl, Morgan Stanley finally determined to have her as a student trainee.

    After graduation from the Oxford University, Du Qingmiao was employed as an analyst with Morgan Stanley; later she was promoted to be a deputy manager.

“I am grateful for ‘non-interference’ of my father in these years”

    Du Qingmiao received stringent family education under the severity of her father since a child.

    Du Jingang said he had not been concerned much about his daughter because he was busy with his business at first and then he found he could have full faith in his daughter’s self-discipline.

    “I am grateful for my father’s “non-interference” in these years”, Du Qingmiao said with smile. The non-interference helped in her development of independent thinking, as well as her independence and initiative. “Attributable to my assertiveness, independence and efficiency, I have been called ‘Hero Miao’ by many people around, particularly my classmates.”

    As Du Qingmiao told the journalist, her father educated her by setting an example and doing practical deeds. When she was in Britain, her father persisted in sending her financial magazines each month for her to read.

    In 2013, Du Qingmiao came back to Chongqing and became an employee with Ziyuan Group, where she turned from finance to real estate development. She was assigned as the principal of Ziyuan · COMOS Era at Shipingqiao, which was the first real estate project under her independent operation, and free from interference of Du Jingang.

    “She has active thinking, strong executive power and fast adaptability”, said Tang Shuanghong, the Deputy General Manager of Ziyuan Group. From land acquisition, project establishment, design, financing to product sales, Du Qingmiao started from scratches and became capable of independent work just half a year later.

Creation of an exquisite works “facing the sea”

    Sea in sight and blooming flowers in warm spring…Just as many people do, Du Qingmiao also has a complex and dream of living aside the sea.

    Jeju Island of South Korea has picturesque landscape of the sea, beach, green trees and mountains, as well as fresh air. In late 2013, Du Qingmiao accidentally got to know that the local government intended to sell a large plot of land for real estate development.

    With efforts made, Ziyuan Group acquired a land plot covering 1300 mu in August 2015, and assigned Du Qingmiao, the Deputy General Manager of the company as the principal for development and operation of the project.

    “I will make it an exquisite works with dedicated care. It will be more a seaside picturesque human habitat than just real estate”, she said.

    Since then, Du Qingmiao has been a Chongqing native rarely staying in Chongqing but pursuing her dream on the foreign land.

    The project, titled as “Ocean Hill”, faces the sea and lies against the renowned Hana Mount on Jeju Island; it is only 10 minutes’ ride to the easternmost Seongsan Sunrise Bong, and as per the planning, it is also 10 minutes ride way from the second airport on Jeju Island.

    As is known, the Ocean Hill project is not only a tourism real estate project but also a cultural project. In future, there will also be hotels, academies, museums and themed parks constructed around in addition to residences and hotels.

    There is still another thing suggesting the determination, seriousness and preciseness of Du Qingmiao to create the Ocean Hill project with dedicated care.

    - There was a well in the land plot requiring filling. Du Qingmiao resolutely required selection of filler to adapt the local geological structure. Following the requirement, the project department surveyed the geological conditions of the site, based on which sandstone, mud and pelelith were filled subsequently. It cost over CNY 100,000 to just fill the well.

    “Since we plan to make it an exquisite works, we must pursue perfection. Filling of the well seems to be a minor part of the project, but it matters to environmental protection and ecological construction. So it cannot be taken lightly”, said Du Qingmiao.
